Goals

MS Analytics began in Fall 2013 thanks to seed money from SAS® software. We seek to prepare thought leaders in Business Analytics and look forward to remaining the premiere quality program for working professionals. The greatest impact you can make on MS Analytics at Texas A&M is in the following areas:

Establishment of a Business Analytics Institute

The mission of the Institute is to seek innovation in research and education in the field of statistical modeling and “big data” business analytics. The goal of the Institute is to highlight Texas A&M University's strengths and academic leadership by providing cutting edge training for analytics professionals, and bringing together talent from multiple disciplines across the university to advance work in analytics and statistical modeling.

The increasing volume of data collected each minute in this country alone provides those with the skills and knowledge to bring about significant change in our society. McKinsey Global Institute published a study in May 2011 entitled “Big Data: The next frontier for innovation, competition, and productivity” that predicts “by 2018 the US will have a shortage of 140,000-190,000 people with deep analytical skills as well as 1.5 million managers and analysts with know-how to use the analysis of big data to make effective decisions”. The anticipated shortage of professionals with deep analytical skills demands further research in analytics and statistical modeling. This Institute can assist in that national need.

Student Recruitment and Scholarships

Financial support and outstanding faculty are the keys to attract more of the best and brightest students into our program.

Endowed scholarships are helpful in planning for the future and attracting talent early in the recruitment process.

One-time scholarships are helpful in rewarding students for academic success.

With your support, we can deliver additional support to enhance these working professionals experience as Aggies. Such enhancements would include:
